Inflatable Dinghy found near Sidney, BC
On January 2, 2022, an 8 Foot inflatable dingy equipped with a 3.5 HP Mercury outboard motor washed ashore along Lochside Drive, Sidney, BC. The dinghy has the name “Sun Mariner” written on the side. Walker Bay tender found near Gambier Island, BC
On January 14th 2021, the Canadian Coast Guard crew from the Kitsilano Base located a Walker Bay dinghy adrift off of Gambier Island. The vessel was turned over to the Vancouver Police Marine Unit and is being secured while members attempt to identify its the owner. Walker Bay Inflatable found off Galiano Island - owner unknown
Members of the Outer Gulf Islands RCMP recovered a Grey and White West Marine inflatable in mid April 2020. The vessel was located in Montague Harbour, Galiano Island. At the time of the recovery, the vessel was only equipped with a pair of oars. 2016 Pelican kayak recovered in Vancouver - owner unknown
The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is attempting to locate the owner of a 2016 Pelican TROUPE 129T “Sit On Top” kayak. The vessel was located hidden in a brush area in a depression alongside the south shore of False Creek near Habitat Island. O'Brien Polywog plastic tender found by Vancouver Police Marine Unit - Owner unknown
The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is attempting to locate the owner of a 1982 eight foot O’Brien Polywog plastic tender. The vessel was found abandoned in Heather Civic Marina, in False Creek, Vancouver, on April 23rd 2018. Please contact Constable Perry Fiedler of the VPD Marine Unit if you are able to assist. Lund with trailer found in Langford area - Owner unknown
Constable Brewer of the RCMP West Shore Detachment is attempting to locate the owner of a vessel in the Langford area of Vancouver Island. The vessel is an aluminum/burgundy Lund, 16-18 feet, with a

Pelican Kayak found by Mission RCMP - Owner unknown
On April 10th 2018 at approximately 0930 hrs, the Mission RCMP seized a 12 foot Pelican Escape 120x kayak from a subject on the Lougheed Hwy for safe keeping. The investigating member is attempting to determine the lawful owner of the watercraft. The kayak also contained a PFD and a paddle. Information Requested - Seabright Inflatable recovered in False Creek, Vancouver, BC
The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is requesting assistance in identifying the owner of a Seabright Inflatable that was located adrift late July or early August 2017. The vessel had been found adrift in the False Creek- English Bay area following one of the nights of the Celebration of Light, and was towed into False Creek by another boater for safe keeping. The vessel has only now been brought to the attention of VPD Marine Unit. If you can assist in identifying the vessel and its owner, please contact Constable Jamie Gibson.

Information Requested - recovered tenders near Richmond
The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue – Station 10 Richmond, is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two tenders that have recently been recovered in the Strait of Georgia area off Richmond BC. RCMSAR units throughout the BC coast are actively on the water prepared to respond to marine emergencies. Stolen Boats Canada recommends that owners of tenders and small craft mark their contact phone number, and that of an emergency contact, on their vessel to assist search and rescue units to contact owners of vessels found adrift in order to determine if a search for missing persons is required. Necky Amaruk kayak found near Nanaimo, BC
The RCMP Nanaimo is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of a teal blue Necky Amaruk kayak that was found in the Nanaimo area. Aluminum vessel found in Belcarra Park, Coquitlam
On March 3, 2017, Corporal ABELS and other members of the Coquitlam RCMP Rural Policing Section, located a 10 foot aluminium car topper just north of Belcarra Park near the water in/out take for the water pump. The exterior of the boat is red, and was covered in green algae. Located inside the boat were two wooden paddles, a square black metal crab trap with a blue rope and an empty blue antifreeze container as a float. The boat also had blue rod holder clips attached. Canoe found adrift in Georgia Strait, BC
On October 10, 2016 members of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCMSAR) located a yellow canoe adrift approximately 2 nautical miles Northwest of the Sands Heads in the Strait of Georgia off Richmond, BC. The vessel was transferred from the care of the RCMSAR to the Richmond RCMP. The canoe had no markings. Kayaks found in Stanley Park
The City of Vancouver Park Rangers have recovered several kayaks abandoned in City Parks and Stanley Park over the past few weeks. The vessels are being held by the Vancouver Police Department for Safe Keeping and identification of the lawful owners. The Vancouver Park Rangers have located an 18 foot 2003 Current Designs “Storm” kayak. The kayak has been turned over to the Vancouver Police for safekeeping and identification of the owner. Operator Located for overturned vessel in Fraser River, BC
The Richmond RCMP have confirmed that they have identified and located the owner of the 10 foot Riviera found overturned in the south arm of the Fraser River July 22nd by RCMSAR. The vessel owner was able to safely swim to shore after his vessel had over turned. Thanks to everyone for their assistance.

West Kelowna RCMP recover pontoon boat drifting in Okanagan Lake - owner unknown
On July 4th 2016, a 23 foot Home Built Pontoon boat was found drifting in Okanagan Lake near the William Bennett Bridge. The West Kelowna RCMP attended and recovered the vessel that was adrift with the keys in the ignition. The previous owner was contacted and advises that the vessel had been sold years earlier. Investigators are attempting to locate the current owner to determine the circumstances of the vessel being adrift. Vessel found drifting in False Creek, Vancouver, BC
On August 6th 2015 at approximately 5:30 am, a citizen cycling along the seawall near Granville Island observed a male clinging to the side of a row boat in the waters of False Creek. The male was rushed to hospital suffering from hypothermia. The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is attempting to identify the owner of the vessel the male was drifting with and are asking the public for assistance. Z-Ray II-300 Inflatable found on Okanagan Lake - Kelowna, BC
Constable Ryan Smith of the RCMP Kelowna Detachment is looking for assistance in identifying the owner of a 9' “Z Ray II-300” Inflatable, HIN CN-JILK0053C108, recovered on July 3rd 2015 washed up on the shore, semi deflated, south of Rattle Snake Island on Okanagan Lake. Aquamarine Inflatable found near Pitt River - Ridge Meadows, BC
The RCMP Ridge Meadows Detachment is looking for assistance in identifying an 8 foot gray Aquamarine Inflatable with a 12 hp Haswing outboard recovered off the McQuarrie Road area of the Pitt River. Paddle Board found adrift in English Bay, Vancouver, BC
On Sunday October 26th 2014 at 5:30 pm, the Vancouver Police Marine Unit was alerted to a report of a possible person in distress in waters off Spanish Banks in English Bay. At 5:40 pm members located a “STARBOARD” Inflatable model Paddle Board adrift in the heavy swells. An exhaustive search by the Canadian Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue and the VPD Marine Unit was unable to locate anything further. Police are requesting assistance identifying the recovered paddle board and request that persons contact 911 immediately if they believe they may have knowledge of anyone who may have run into peril in connection to this event.

Two Abandoned tenders found in False Creek, Vancouver, BC
The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is reminding owners of moored vessels in the Vancouver area of an ongoing issue of the theft of tenders and auxiliary engines. Further, it appears tenders are being utilized by suspects to enter marinas and vessels at anchor, to break into vessels. The unit recovered two abandoned vessels, October 13th and 15th , and are asking for assistance in identifying them.
1) October 13th – Delphin Inflatable white and blue. Located abandoned south side False Creek, east of the Cambie Bridge.
2) October 15th – Plastic 6 foot cathedral hull dinghy abandoned on shoreline between Kits and Jericho. Make unknown. “OK BOAT” in black letters on sides.

1978 Century found adrift near in Lower Pitt River, BC
Department of Fisheries and Oceans officers working in conjunction with the RCMP Coquitlam Rural Policing Unit are attempting to identify a 1978 Century that was located in the Lower Pitt River area in the Maple Ridge – Coquitlam region. 2001 Zodiac Zoom found adrift off Jericho Beach, Vancouver, BC
On 2014 08 14 Canadian Coast Guard 506 retrieved a vessel adrift approximately 600 feet off Jericho Beach. The Vessel was subsequently seized by the Vancouver Police Marine Unit for identification. The vessel is a 2001 Zodiac Zoom 11 foot inflatable equipped with a 15 hp Honda outboard. Please contact PC Dave Horne if you can assist in this matter. VPD File 2014-143457

Bost Whaler found near sunset beach, Vancouver, BC
On April 12th 2014, a 15 foot Boston Whaler washed ashore at Sunset Beach in False Creek, Vancouver. At the time, the area was receiving 20-25 knot north westerly winds. The vessel appears to have been being used to salvage copper pipe and wire. A Stihl chainsaw was also located on the vessel. The vessel was equipped with an older Johnson 60 hp outboard and a Mercury 9.9 hp outboard. Both engines were located mounted to the transom with their cowlings removed. It appeared parts were being swapped between the engines. The information associated to vessel license 13K73560 does not appear to be current. All lines were secured on the vessel, showing no sign of the vessel breaking free from or being untied from its mooring. If you have any information on this vessel or a missing person associated to this or similar type vessel or recovery of a body in or adjacent to the waters in the Strait of Georgia, Queen Charlotte Channel and associated waterways, please contact Constable Jamie Gibson of the Vancouver Police Marine Unit.

Reinell with trailer located by Edmonton Police - owner unknown
Detective Alf Normand of the Edmonton Police Service Auto Theft Unit is looking for information on the Reinell pictured below. The vessel is believed to have been stolen in Alberta in the summer of 2013. It is believed that the cabin visible in the photo of the Volvo Drive may help identify the theft location. 2005 Polarkraft found by Edmonton Police
In late November 2013, the Edmonton Police Service recovered several vessels and engines that were stolen from the Edmonton and outlying areas. The EPS is requesting assistance in identifying the remaining vessel, a 2005 PolarKraft. Please contact Bryan Kincheloe or Insurance Bureau of Canada Investigator Gary Kreitz if you can assist.

2008 Pelican Canoe found by Vancouver Police near Brocton Point
The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is looking for assistance in identifying the owner of a red 2008 Pelican Explorer DLX 14’ canoe. The vessel was spotted overturned off Brocton Point in Vancouver Harbour on August 7th 2013 at approximately 2 pm. An exhaustive water and shoreline search by Canadian Coast Guard, RCMSAR and the VPD Marine Unit only turned up a paddle believed related to the canoe. The paddle was an aluminum shaft with a white poly blade and was one half of a kayaking paddle. Please contact Cst Jamie Gibson or Cst Murray Cummins at 604-817-1946.

Vancouver Police Marine Unit is looking for assistance in identifying the owner of a yellow 2011 Aquamarine, eight foot inflatable. The vessel was located off the mouth of False Creek following the Celebration of Lights July 27th 2013 but was not turned over to police until July 28th. New Westminster Police seek owner of recovered Titan Inflatable
Constable Rusty Roest of the New Westminster Police Marine Unit is requesting assistance in identifying a recovered Titan Inflatable. The vessel was recovered with a Mercury outboard that has been identified by Detective Phil Ens of the Vancouver Police Auto Theft Enforcement Unit. The vessel, however, remains unidentified. Vancouver Police Marine identify owner of 1997 Zodiac P420 found adrift
The Zodiac recovered on August 3, 2012 adrift off Cates Park by Canadian Coast Guard Crews from Kitsilano Base has been identified and returned to its owner. Abandoned Harbercraft Aluminum boat found in Pitt Meadows
On October 7, 2011 at 0859 hours Ridge Meadows RCMP received a complaint from a Metro Vancouver Parks employee, who stated he had found a 1989 10ft Silver/ Red Harbercraft Aluminum boat in the water near Harris Road and Fraser Way in Pitt Meadows. Ridge Meadows RCMP has taken charge of the vessel. Please contact Cst Colin Ryder (604-463-6251) if you can assist with identifying this vessel.

Abandoned Sailboat found in Nooksack River
Lummi Nation PD have located a sailboat in the Nooksack River, just upstream from Bellingham Bay. The vessel is tied off to two trees, and according to local fisherman has been there for over a week. The location and circumstances suggest the boat may be stolen. There is no hull identification number, boat name or other information to help identify the boat. Abandoned Boat and trailer found in New Westminster, BC - owner unknown
The New Westminster Police attended the intersection of Duncan Street & Boyd Street, New Westminster at approximately 6 pm on September 18th, for a report of a 16’ abandoned boat & trailer. The boat is a Cobra, believed to be mid 1970’s or 80s, and the motor is a 140HP Johnson. The engine has been repainted black, and the hull is repainted silver. Information Request - Canadian Coast Guard Environmental Response Unit
The Canadian Coast Guard Environmental Response Unit responded to a call of a vessel washed ashore in the Saanich Inlet area. The vessel posed an environmental hazard and was immediately extracted from the water to mitigate the threat to the surrounding habitat. Crew members on scene inspected the “Lady Patricia”, a 1975 24 foot Fiberform cruiser, and believe it was scuttled. The Canadian Coast Guard is requesting assistance in order to return the vessel to its owner. Aquamarine found by VPD Marine Squad - owner unknown
The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is attempting to reunite a 2006 Aquamarine Inflatable with its owner.
On August 24th an Aquamarine 230 inflatable, approximately 7 feet in length, drifted into the False Creek Yacht Club under the Granville Bridge in False Creek. Chilliwack RCMP recover stolen PWC - owner unknown
The Chilliwack RCMP recovered a 1997 Bombardier Sea-Doo and trailer. The HIN has been removed and the craft subsequently painted red. It is believed that the original colour was white and purple. The secondary HIN was located however it was last registered in 1999. Southern Pacific Inflatable recovered from Fraser River
New Westminster Police have recovered a 9’ ‘Southern Pacific’ ridged hull inflatable from the Fraser River in the Delta / New Westminster area. The seizure is part of an ongoing investigation. Information Requested by Elk Valley RCMP on abandoned Four Winns
In July 2010, a 1990 Four Winns Horizon 200 ski boat and trailer was abandoned in the Duty Free parking lot near the Canada USA border crossing at Port of Roosville. The Port of Roosville crossing is located north of Eureka Montana and South of Fernie BC. Cst Milo Melwood of the RCMP Elk Valley Detachment has queried the vessel in Canada and the USA with negative results. Cst Melwood was able to track down a previous owner of the boat that stated he sold the boat in Montana approximately 10 years previous. The vessel is a 20’ teal and white 1990 Four Winns Horizon 200. Vessel License 1H24963, HIN 4WNMF227H990 with an OMC Cobra 260 HP inboard/outboard motor. Please check your local data bases for any records of this vessel and contact Cst Melwood if you can be of assistance in identifying this vessel.

Ridge Meadows RCMP seek information on pontoon barge
Constable Tony EEFTINK of the Ridge Meadows RCMP Marihuana Enforcement Team is requesting assistance in identifying a pontoon barge that has been abandoned in the South Alouette River in the Pitt Meadows area. The barge appeared approximately 3 weeks ago and was associated to a stolen outboard motor. 1979 Catalina moored in Tsehum Harbour, Sidney, BC has been identified
With the assistance of members of the Marine Intelligence Group which is comprised of law enforcement agencies in the USA and Canada, the vessel pictured below abandoned in Tsehum Harbour, Sydney BC, has now been identified. Penticton RCMP seek assitance in identifying vessel owner
Constable Mike Gallagher of the RCMP Penticton Detachement is looking for assistance in identifying a 1980’s era vessel and trailer found dumped in Okanagan Lake in the Penticton area. The vessel appears to be a gold 17’ fiberglass 1980’s vintage with chrome lettering on the dash and rear quarters “Islanders”. Canadian Vessel License 1K 5766. Chilliwack RCMP seek assistance in identifying vessel owner
TThe RCMP Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment Crime Reduction Unit has seized a 1991 Misty River 18’ open aluminium boat. The vessel and trailer are believed to be stolen. The vessel is equipped with a mercury outboard and EZ Loader trailer. Members determined the machine gun mounted on the bow to be a replica. The vessel is known to have been actively used on the Fraser River in the Chilliwack area. Constable Layne Penner is requesting assistance in identifying the rightful owner of the vessel and trailer. Vessel found adrift in Fraser River
The Richmond RCMP is requesting assistance in identifying the hull of a vessel located in the Fraser River along River Rd in Richmond. The red fibreglass hull apppears to have been in the water for some time. Only markings on the boat are 2240626. Please contact Cst. Sumoto inflatable with 1980's Honda engine found adrift in Pitt Lake
The Coquitlam RCMP has recovered a Sumoto inflatable 10' dinghy with a 1980's Honda 4 stroke engine adrift in the Pitt Lake area. Attempts are being made to identify the vessel’s owner. On 2010 October 8th Bob Gough of the Office of Navigable Waters -Transport Canada contacted Stolen Boats Canada regarding a 16’ Hourston that was abandoned on the beach in Friday Harbour in the San Juan Islands, USA. The vessel is displaying a Canadian Vessel License and is believed to be stolen from Vancouver Island or the lower mainland. The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is requesting assistance in identifying a Steveston International 8’ fibreglass tender equipped with a bilge pump and battery. The partially worn off name “Prime Plus Half” is visible on the stern. The vessel was recovered adrift off Cowan Point on October 11, 2009 by a Canadian Coast Guard crew from the Kitsilano Base. Red and White kayak found adrift in Howe Sound
The Vancouver Police Marine Unit is requesting assistance in identifying a red and white 12’ Kayak of unknown make. The kayak appears to have been hand painted white below the waterline. The vessel was recovered adrift in Howe Sound on 2009 September 19 by a Canadian Coast Guard crew from the Kitsilano Base. Yellow Seacret Kayak found near Point Atkinson
The Vancouver Police Marine Unit ask for your assistance in identifying the owner of a yellow Seacret Kayak located along Caulfeild Rocks near Pt Atkinson off West Vancouver. 1995 Aquapro located adrift near Bowen Island
On the August long weekend (August 1-3, 2009) the Port Moody Police Department located a vessel adrift near Bowen Island and Hutt Island. Contact Cst Ian Morrison, Port Moody PD (604-461-3456) if you have any information.

Azul Argon Kayak Found adrift off Sechelt
On 2009 August 30 the VPD Marine Unit took possession of a 2004 Red Azul Argon Kayak. This vessel was found adrift off Sechelt in July 2009 and attempts to locate an owner have so far been unsuccessful. Contact Cst Jamie Gibson of the VPD Marine Unit if you have any information (604-817-1946)

9 foot Caribe Inflatable found adrift in English Bay
This vessel was located damaged and adrift in English Bay in late July 2009 by the Vancouver Police Marine Unit. Vessel is a 1992 9' Caribe, HIN EMD9X021D292 with a 9.8hp Nissan outboard (s/n 20315). Necky Manitou Sea Kayak recovered
On 2009-02-03 this vessel was found floating in False Creek by the Canadian Coast Guard crew from Kitsilano Base. The vessel had a single rowing paddle aboard (not a kayak paddle), leading police to believe it may be stolen. The VPD Marine Unit are attempting to identify the owner. Aluminum Dinghy "Fletcher Flagship" recovered
On 2009-02-03 this vessel was recovered by the VPD Marine Unit and is believed to have been used in vessel Break and Enters in the Coal Harbour area. This vessel is believed to be stolen and the VPD Marine Unit are attempting to identify the owner.
